🕯️ Episode 1: A Bouquet in the Inbox

An unexpected compliment. A virtual flower. And the first step into a digital mystery.

A few days after my first post on WenXueCity's fitness forum unexpectedly went viral, I received my very first private message. It contained only a compliment in the subject line. Warm, poetic, and completely unexpected, it felt like a bouquet arriving in my inbox. We began chatting about exercise, family, and life, and I happily added my first-ever WXC friend.

What seemed like a simple online friendship felt unusually natural and sincere. I had no reason to doubt it. In fact, I felt grateful that writing had connected me with someone who appeared to share similar interests and values.

Sometimes the most memorable journeys don't begin with dramatic events. They begin with something small—a compliment, a conversation, a click on an "Add Friend" button. Only later do we realize we have already crossed the threshold into a much larger story.

First impressions are powerful because they appeal to our emotions before our reasoning. A genuine compliment can open a door, but it should never close our curiosity. Every meaningful connection deserves both openness and thoughtful observation.
